Music Education Philosophy

Learning music requires the use of nearly every area of the brain at the same time, and each of these areas is doing its part of the work instantaneously.  So basically, playing music is the brain’s equivalent of a full-body workout. Just like working out, practicing music helps strengthen the brain functions required to play music, particularly those in the visual, motor, and auditory cortices. Additionally, studies have shown that the younger kids are when they start learning how to read/perform music, the stronger the connections are in their brain.
