Powerful Ways To Support Your Child's Education

ree

Kids today are bogged down by societal, academic, and parental pressure. A generation is being told not to pursue their passions. They’re being diagnosed with a myriad of mental health disorders at alarming rates.

How did we get here?

Are we as parents falling into a trap?

One minute we’re encouraging our kids to pursue their passions and play as much as possible. Then the next, we’re worried about where they fall on an academic spectrum, obsessed with checking if they are on track for their age and grade level, even though we know most of the schoolwork is someone's outdated agenda.

Yes, kids need to learn and be with other kids.

Yes, kids need to apply what they learn to the real world, and what they are learning should further their abilities to pursue their unique passions.

It is our belief at Customized Curriculums that the core subjects essential to every child's curriculum are: reading, writing, math, art, music, gardening, and technology. There is so much for them to learn, but also so much that can be eliminated.

We are here to empower families to create a learning environment and curriculum that meets the needs of their children and is realistic for the whole family.

After all, that's why we’re all here — to help and support the next generation as they learn and grow into what they feel they were created to do.

What does this look like in practical application? How do we support our children to thrive in today's society in such stressful and complicated times?

We have clients all over the United States who are successfully supporting their children in a self-led curriculum that includes their passions. Students spend hours in the barn with their horse, playing their instrument of choice, or in the community garden they started in their neighborhood.

We are confident that your child already knows what they want to be doing, and we can help to support these passions while also encouraging and supporting them to master the core subjects.

Each family and their needs are different, and the core subjects look different for each child. For some children, writing practice is working on an awesome comic or story they are developing. Another client meets with their mom each day for tea and picks out books to read together. Math can be counting action figures that they love, and science may be collecting samples on a nature walk.

We encourage our families and clients to view learning as a lifestyle. Customized Curriculum is uniquely equipped to support children and parents in whatever their academic goals are, and with social, emotional, and psychological goals as well.

We love being a part of this unique process, helping parents to trust and support their children as they achieve their full potential.
