Learn More About Our Digital Course on Education Pods in This Video

Get started right away with our digital course for parents on how to create and maintain education pods for $59.

What does an education pod look like?
Here are two examples, below.

Description of an education pod made up of 4th-grade boys, focused on writing:

This education pod is made up of three 4th-grade boys who are a mix of writing levels, abilities and interests.

  1. One of the four is an outgoing adventurer-type of kid who enjoys 4-wheelers, horses, dirt bikes, and baseball.

  2. One boy is a quiet and shy introvert who has strong memory skills. Despite this, he would rather say "yes" to being on the school's TV morning announcements than say "no" to his teacher’s request that he do so.

  3. One boy is academically gifted and an advanced learner. He’s a quick thinker who is smaller in stature yet humble and kind.

We teach them a writing curriculum: the Institute Writing with Excellence, with Cursive First, and Spell to Write and Read. These three English Language Arts (ELA) components are a magical trifecta of information. We designed this pod so that after the 1-hour-long ELA lesson they can have free creative playtime together.

Description of an education pod made up of middle school students:

This pod has 3 middle schoolers: one seventh-grade girl, and two eighth-grade boys. They all have a customized learning curriculum by our team. They bring their curriculum to the host home and work on it independently, or swim in the onsite pool and play. In addition to working independently, the three come together occasionally for common lessons, such as on the topic of grammar.

Two of the students in the pod take the same Japanese class with a tutor from Customized Curriculum by Kristen. Each student has time with the tutor to touch base on their individual curriculum and have their individual lesson during our pod time.

The education pod also enjoys social gatherings, such as the Christmas party this year which was especially fun. We had a pool pizza party and played a board game called Cash Flow which is fun while at the same time teaches lessons in economics.
